Let's Go Fly a Kite!

The kindergarten students made and flew kites last week to finish up our weather unit. We thought we would get rained out, but we were very fortunate to experiment with our hand-made kites.

I love the picture above.  It really captures the flight!

We used a YouTube video as a tutorial to make a kite!  The students had a lot of fun!

Ducks! Ducks! Ducks!

Our kindergarten class has taken on the task of "Mother Duck!"  We are in the process of learning about the life cycle if Muscovy Ducks. We received our eggs and began our incubation journey last Wednesday, April 16th.

Here is our "Mother Duck" for the day, Shiann!

The "Mother Ducks" turn the eggs twice a day. The students are loving the responsibility and being involved in such an awesome experience!

We are gearing up for Thanksgiving - here is our November bulletin board!  The students had to disguise a turkey and complete this sentence -

Gobble, Gobble, Gurkey, I’m a hidden turkey.  I am disguised as a _____________.
Here is our Bulletin Board saying...

My name is Tom Turkey,
and I’m afraid as I can be.
I’m wearing my disguise,
so you won’t catch me.

We had a lot of creative ideas for turkey hiding!
 Butterfly

  Taking a Bubble Bath

Girl Minion and an Acorn under that

  Indian

 Scarecrow

This week was Red Ribbon week!  We celebrated being DRUG FREE by dressing up each day.
Thursday was Career Dress day!  Here are a few friends....

We gave a farmer, a fireman, two policeman, a doctor, and an artist!

Today, we had our BSHS friends visit to tell us about being drug free.  Miss Jessie is a cheerleader and knows the importance of a healthy body!

Today, we also had Wear Red Day!

Here are a few pictures from our pumpkin unit complete with "gutting it" at the end!

Eww!
We made Pumpkin Diagrams to be displayed.
